LAR Fundraising Events

Ludlow Assembly Rooms Fundraising Events, LARFE, is a small dedicated team of volunteers whose aim is to raise vital funds for LAR, a registered charity, by organising events such as Ludlow’s Secret Gardens, Coffee Mornings, Garden soirees, Winter Quiz and, every two years, an Auction of Promises. An innovation in 2023 is the Progressive Lunches – please contact chrisbrianevans@btinternet.com for information on this intriguing event. LARFE also keeps the Honesty Bookcase in the main corridor, well stocked with donated books.

LARFE considers Ludlow Assembly Rooms an outstanding facility in the heart of rural Shropshire, offering its diverse programme throughout the year plus spaces to hire for a wide range of community activities. It was described by West Midlands Arts as ‘The Jewel in Ludlow’s Crown’.

To keep ticket prices affordable, Ludlow Assembly Rooms, like all U.K Arts Centres, relies on support from patrons, sponsors, Friends of LAR, hundreds of volunteers and LARFE, which in the year 2022/23 raised £27,800. Funds raised go towards specific items such as technical equipment and on-going improvements. LARFE would dearly like to recruit more members. We meet for an hour or so every two months and rally round to help at each event. We are currently looking for a Treasurer and a Secretary. Whether you have experience of fundraising or not, but have ideas and skills to contribute, we’d love to hear from you – please contact shauna@salt-works.co.uk
