Didgeridoo Workshop

June 22 @ 11:00

Sophie’s Didgeridoo Workshops will take you a musical journey through time, with one of the oldest instruments in recorded human history. Starting as an informative talk on the history and origins, before moving on to detailed explanations of techniques and lengthy demonstrations.

As the in-house Technical Manager of the Ludlow Assembly Rooms and with a special interest in immersive audio sound design and technology, don’t be surprised to experience an element of immersive cinematic audio, especially as her demonstrations move from the ancient Aboriginal outback of Australia to the modern world of contemporary music. Sophie has worked as a session player, working with bands such as Ferocious Dog and supported the Levellers live, with her didgeridoo heard from many large festival stages.
This exploration of the Didgeridoo should appeal to anyone. Be it a general interest in the history and origins, to uncover the techniques, or simply to just to listen and enjoy the demonstrations. The main presentation and performance in the Auditorium, will be followed by a workshop, where anyone can come and try the didgeridoo for the first time.
