
Nina & Co Vintage Film Night : On The Black Hill (1987) (15)

Set in Herefordshire at the end of 19th C. Puritanical Welsh farmer Amos Jones marries his social superior, vicar’s daughter Mary Latimer after the death of her father. Her inheritance and social connections enable them to rent a vacant farm, ‘The Vision’. The film follows the special relationship of their twin sons and how it is tested as they go through the different challenges in their lives.

We are delighted that director, Thaddeus O’Sullivan who was cinematographer on Black Hill is going to do an intro and Q&A for this event.
During the first half of 2025, at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Nina & Co will present six classic films whose quality and content still inspire and speak to us today. Chosen primarily for the strength of their art – visual, musical and dramatic, the visual qualities are key, in costume. production design, cinematography and setting, from Britain, Europe and America.
