West Side Story (PG)

Dir: Jerome Robbins, Robert Wise | USA | 1961 | 152 mins

Winner of ten Oscars (including Best Picture) and arguably the best musical ever made, West Side Story is and electrifying classic that sets a Romeo and Juliet story in the slums of 1950s New York, with Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein’s superb score the perfect backdrop.

White West Side American gang the Jets are preparing to fight their rivals, the Puerto Rican Sharks. But matters are complicated when Tony (Richard Beymar) falls in love with the sister of the leader of the Sharks, Maria (Natalie Wood)… Groundbreaking choreography and an unforgettable energy make West Side Story a must-see on the big screen.
