I Am Not Your Negro (12A)

Dir: Raoul Peck | USA | 2016 | 93 mins

In 1979, writer and civil rights leader James Baldwin began to write a book, entitled Remember This House, about race in modern America using personal accounts about the lives and assassinations of his three close friends; Medger Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. When Baldwin died in 1987 he left behind only thirty complete pages of the book.

Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson this documentary reimagines the book had it been completed using James Baldwin’s words and examines race in America up to the present time.
