EDGE CHAMBER CHOIR AUTUMN CONCERT -  A Pastoral Idyll

Immerse yourself in the sights of our beautiful local countryside whilst listening to evocative music in the next concert by the Edge Chamber choir, to be held in St Laurence’s Church Ludlow on Saturday 12 October at 7.30 pm.

Entitled A Pastoral Idyll, the centrepiece of the concert will be a very moving setting of Housman's poetry in 'A Shropshire Lad' written by Edge's Assistant Conductor, Edmund Handy, specifically for Edge. The music will be enhanced by projected photographs of the local areas mentioned by Housman.

Also in the programme will be Finzi's gorgeous lyrical settings of Robert Bridges' poems and pastoral music by Elgar, Stanford, Saint-Saens and including Eric Whitacre -  one of the choir’s favourite composers.

The combination of beautiful music and photographs in the setting of one of the most stunning churches in England makes this a concert not to be missed!
