Jess Tuthill
Jess Tuthill is a singer-songwriter from Reading. She has been writing music for over 20 years, taking inspiration from her surroundings, which regularly including television and computer games. Her debut album A Beautiful Disaster produced by Ed Harcourt received rave reviews.
Notable past performances include London’s Union Chapel where Jess shared the stage with the likes of Kathryn Williams and Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers). Williams remarked on her music “Jess makes the uke sound beautiful (which is in itself a miracle!), her voice is warm velvet and her songs move me to tears. What can I say I’m a fan!”
For the last 9 years, her instrument of choice has been the ukulele, mainly so she can feel like a giant when she plays. Jess has been described as having “a voice that is to your ears what an M&S treacle pudding advert is to your eyes”, and "genuinely impressive", which she keeps reminding people about to this day.
Whilst her music is often delicate and melancholy, it is accompanied by a warmth and humour in her sets which always manages to captivate an attentive crowd, no matter the size.
