As we continue to grow our live events at Ludlow Assembly Rooms (LAR), we are looking for enthusiastic Front of House Supervisors to help everything run smoothly, for the audience and for the artists. This is an ad-hoc role, booked in advance when we know we’ll be busy and require a single point of contact Supervisor to ensure things run smoothly. We’re looking for a small number of people who can be called on, in advance. Shifts will usually be 3-5 hours and our busier events tend to be on Fridays and Saturdays although there are some midweek.

Job description

The Front of House Supervisor is responsible for the smooth operational running of LAR in the evenings, including overseeing Front of House Stewards

The Front of House team is the public face LAR, welcoming the audience and delivering first class customer service, while ensuring that health & safety and licensing regulations are met.

Front of House Supervisor principle responsibilities:

  • · Responsible for welcoming and ensuring the safety and comfort of members of the public and staff during performances.
  • · On the day tasks including designated health and safety compliance, fire and security checks, artist liaison and supervising volunteer stewards and managing the bar
  • · To ensure LAR’s cleanliness is maintained and the FOH and backstage areas are well presented
  • · Be first point of contact for audiences, volunteers and non technical staff when working
  • · Liaise with other staff/volunteers on duty including technical staff, Box Office and bar
  • · To deal with customer complaints confidently, effectively and appropriately
  • Cash handling/cashing up
  • · Additional duties and responsibilities as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • · Previous experience in a Front of House/hospitality environment or events and festivals
  • · Available evenings and weekends (ad-hoc shifts, booked in advance, according to programme)
  • · Experience in cashing up and money handling
  • · Confident in using own initiative, and a proactive attitude to work
  • · Experience in managing a small team in a busy environment

The role operates on a casual contract.

Salary : £12 p/hr

Probation period (1month)
