Handel in Italy – Ludlow Choral Society

This concert is at St Laurence's Church, Ludlow
Dixit Dominus and other works from Baroque composers based in Italy in the early years of the 18th century where Handel spent time as a young man.
The main work is Handel’s “Dixit Dominus” from 1707 and the programme also includes the shorter “Nisi Dominus” both composed for the Church of Santa Maria in Rome.
The concert will also feature works to religious texts by Vivaldi and Scarlatti as well as shorter pieces by Handel and Lotti. It will also include a performance of Corelli’s popular Christmas Concerto by the Ludlow Camarata.
The concert will be conducted by LCS’s Musical Director, Nicola Starkie.
