Zine Workshop : Telling Local Stories

Fri 28 Aug
Sat 29 Aug

This workshop is about the power of using zines, a kind of handmade pamphlet, to tell the local or personal stories that matter to you. You'll learn about the radical history of zine making, explore local histories and folklore for inspiration and use media like writing, collage, and drawing to make your own zines to take home. The session is led by Simon Moreton, an artist and zine-maker, and Rachel Sykes, a writer and lecturer. Simon and Rachel both grew up in the area, and use zines and writing to explore questions of belonging, place, and rural life.
