Hello from our new CEO, Fiona Morell.

I am excited to be joining LAR as its full time CEO. I moved to Ludlow three and half years ago and have served on the board as a trustee for two years. As a board member and user of the building I am aware of the very real challenges facing arts organisations at the moment, but I passionately believe that the mission of LAR is crucial. Together with the talented team of staff and volunteers, I want to ensure that LAR provides arts of the highest quality, as well as being a building that is accessible and friendly, so that our community of Ludlow and beyond can come together to enjoy and benefit from the many services we offer.

I started my career working in an arts centre, before spending 10 years as a professional theatre director. I then worked in international development, and for the last five years have worked as the Executive Director of an international charity that enables women and girls to amplify their voices through the arts. I hope to bring all these skills to my new role here at LAR. However, I can’t do this alone – I invite all of you, audience members, volunteers, community groups and organisations to share with me what you want from LAR in the future. Together we can create a vibrant, creative and sustainable organisation that serves our town.

A helping hand

Volunteers are the life blood of Ludlow Assembly Rooms

Over 150 people give their time for free to support us in the smooth day-to-day running of our amazing arts centre. From accounting to zapping tickets, serving drinks to designing posters, delivering film guides to checking tickets, there really is a role here for everyone.

If you can spare a couple of hours a week and want to join our amazing team then please get in touch with us at: volunteering@ludlowassemblyrooms.co.uk

Did you know we show films at least 4 times a week? Monday and matinee* tickets are just £6.

You can buy fresh homemade popcorn to enjoy during the film, as well as a whole range of drinks and snacks. So whether you’re a coffee and ice cream kind of cinema goer or a sob into your glass of wine sort, you can do it here in the comfort of our recently renovated auditorium. We have a number of captioned screenings each month, these are marked CC in the film guide.

*Matinees start at 2pm. Evening showings start 7pm (until end of March) from April they will start at 7.30pm
