Rex Factor
The Rex Factor Podcast, presented by Graham Duke and Ali Hood, are back in Ludlow for the third time and delighted to be part of the inaugural History Festival.
In their new series, they are reviewing the ‘nearly’ monarchs of England – the figures who should or could have been the monarch but for the intervention of fate. For each one, they score them on a selection of factors before deciding whether they have that certain something called…the Rex Factor!
On Friday 21 August at 7pm, Graham and Ali will be looking at the battle for the throne in 1066 and who should really have ruled England: Harold Godwinson (who first became king), William the Conqueror (who did become king), Harald Hardrada (the Viking who failed to conquer England), and Edgar the Ætheling – the overlooked prince who actually had a blood claim to the throne. We know what did happen, but help us decide who should have been king.
Rex Factor is a well-researched but light-hearted podcast, aiming to provide a more accessible approach to history.
