Martin Hackett

Martin Hackett is a local author and historian living on the Shropshire-Welsh border, best known for his books on lost battlefields and on wargaming. His books have sold all over the World and he has featured on both radio and television.

Martin has studied battlefields and military architecture across much of Europe, North America and even as far as the Falkland Islands. He uses hundreds of wargame figures of varying scales set upon beautifully sculptured terrain to illustrate how battles would have looked when they were fought.

Come and talk with Martin, and other members of the Battlefields Trust, about the centuries of warfare across Britian and the weapons and defences which the combatants would have carried. Martin has won numerous awards for his battlefield displays and is now the Wales regional representative for the Battlefield Trust and was vice-chair of the local Mortimer’s Cross Battlefield Project.
