Macbeth – 11 – 13th March 2027

Community Production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth

We are delighted to share the news that Ludlow Assembly Rooms will be presenting a community production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth from 11 – 13th March 2027 directed by Peter Hayter and performed in the main auditorium.

Auditions will be held at Ludlow Assembly Rooms
Thursdays: 15th, 22nd & 29th October
Saturdays: 17th, 24th & 31st October

We are looking for approximately 15 actors. Actors must be aged 16+. You do not need to have past acting experience to audition, we are looking for people who are passionate and committed. Preliminary work will begin in mid-November.  Full rehearsals will be taking place in January and February (evenings and weekends only) through to the performance dates.

There will be six performances; including three matinees, two of which are specifically for local GCSE and A-Level students.

LAR will be breaking new ground with their first in-house community production of a Shakespeare play and we would love to hear from members of the community who can help bring this major project to a successful conclusion; from the onstage contributions of actors and musicians to the backstage heroes, including those interested in production, stage management, costume and set design and all other aspects of putting on a show of this scale.  Experience in these areas will be welcome but is not essential.

If you would like to receive an audition pack, or to submit your interest in another role, please email us at: lar_shakespeare@outlook.com
