Become a Friend (just £40 a year)
As an independent Arts and Community Centre, we rely on the help of our friends. By becoming a friend of the Assembly Rooms, not only will you be helping us maintain our varied programme of theatre, film, music and events, but you’ll also get exclusive benefits and discounts that are only available to friends like you
- Friends get priority notification of live events and some popular streaming events
- Friends get 10 % discounts on all cinema tickets
- Friends get 10% discount at the Assembly Rooms bar
- Friends get 10 % discount at Bill’s Kitchen Cafe*
- Friends get discounted rates on private room hire
- Friends get optional membership to the LDCA (see below)
- Friends get invited to Friends Socials and a vote at the AGM!
* cannot be applied in conjunction with any other offer at Bill’s Kitchen
You’ll also become eligible to be a member of the governing board of Ludlow and District Community Association Charity (that’s the official name for the Ludlow Assembly Rooms charity). The first £1 of your yearly subscription will be ascribed to the LDCA, so you automatically be granted membership – if that’s not for you, no problem! Just let us know when you apply for membership and we’ll make sure you’re not signed up.
Become a Patron
We recognise that many of you wish to give to LAR in different ways, so we have launched a new Patrons tier to our current membership scheme for those who wish to give more, supporting our major projects and ongoing development as an organisation, as many of you already do. Patrons of Ludlow Assembly Rooms will receive all the benefits of our existing Friends tier (see above) as well as:
- A pair of tickets to our special annual drinks reception and members dinner
- Dedicated Patrons Liaison (PL)
- X12 free cinema tickets per year (to be booked via PL
- X 4 free live events tickets per year (to be booked via PL)
- X1 free room hire for your own event per year (to be booked via PL)
- Invitation to informal function at LAR with the trustees
- First refusal on tables at annual fundraiser (eg Walcot Hall Lar-de-dah)
- Your name on our Patrons Board and in printed brochures
How much does it cost?
An annual subscription as a Friend of LAR is £40. Becoming a Patron is £300+ as an annual donation or become a Lifetime Patron for a one-off donation of £1500+.
How do I join?
You can purchase Friend’s membership for online here or by popping into our Box Office. If you are already a Friend and pay by Direct Debit then we will be in touch by email to renew. NB: Donations are Giftaid-able, apart from those of corporate donors.

For the under 13s?
We have a FREE membership scheme called MaLARkey – this is designed to encourage the youngest audience members to come and enjoy our programme. We hope to foster a love of Arts and culture in these young people who are paramount to the future of Ludlow Assembly Rooms. You can pick up a FREE membership card at Box Office and have it stamped on each visit.
Young creatives aged 13-19?
STELLAR is a membership scheme for audience members aged 13-19, they receive all the same benefits as Friends, for an annual fee of £10. We aim to encourage young people to find their voice and express their creativity here at Ludlow Assembly Rooms. This network of like-minded individuals offers the opportunity for people to develop skills and build confidence.
Purchase online and then collect your membership card(s) at box office. Alternatively you can buy membership in person at the box office.
