Ludlow Orchestra Concert

May 17 @ 7:30 PM

Ludlow Orchestra Concert
Programme:
Dvorak: Overture ‘Othello’ Op. 93
Prokofiev: Violin Concerto No. 1
Walton: Suite from ‘Henry V’
Tchaikovsky: Fantasy Overture ‘Romeo and Juliet’

Leader: Claire Tocknell
Conductor: Jonathan Lyness
Violin: Gina McCormack

Four fabulous works make up this great programme from the Ludlow Orchestra. Following recent performances at St. Laurence's with both the LO and the Brodsky Quartet, violinist Gina McCormack makes a welcome return to perform Prokofiev’s lush, romantic and devilishly difficult first violin concerto. Three Shakespearean works make up the rest of the programme; Dvorak’s inspired and dramatic concert overture Othello, Walton’s effervescent music from Laurence Olivier’s film of Henry V, and Tchaikovsky’s blisteringly passionate Romeo and Juliet.

Under 19's admitted free – no ticket required
