Music at Bill's Kitchen with Salt Peanuts Collective
February 3, 2025 @ 7:00 PM
Join us in Bill’s Kitchen for our monthly music night with SALT PEANUTS
Tasty, crunchy, familiar… Modern standards & funky grooves from this new group. Tunes range from Herbie Hancock & Brand New Heavies to Coltrane & back via Bobby Hebb & Cannonball Adderley.
On alto and soprano saxophone, Carolyn Evans – Loz Ruston Quartet (Cheltenham Jazz 2022), funk band Juiced (Massive Attack producer John Waterhouse); Big Blues Tribe (British Blues award nominees), and Boperator Boogie Band (Brum Jazz Fest).
On bass, Iain Elliot – Loz Ruston Quartet (Cheltenham Jazz 2022), Nick Holmes, Worcester-based Rose Hannant, and a slew of London bands/session musicians.
On drums, Tom Fisher – Starting as an 8 year old, Tom has been playing drums for far longer than he cares to admit. He’s played with jazz trios up to an 18 piece big band, accompanying many Midlands/international artists, and his last UK tour was with the Ella Fitzgerald Celebration Show.
The above three amigos form the nucleus of the band, working with a variety of the Midlands’ hottest soloists (including Joe Masterson on keys, Jay Riley on sax/keys, Loz Ruston on guitar, and others). A pic’n’mix of great musicians playing great sounds.
