The Art of Observation III
Develop the essential skills and understanding for being able to draw. 
 
This stimulating and exciting drawing course will take place over 6 weeks and is an ideal way to explore a wide variety of artistic drawing methods, materials and techniques.
Under the expert tuition of Anita Bigsby BA(Hons) Fine Art, PGCE (Art Education), PGDip (Art Therapy, Art and Psychotherapy), MA (Hons) Contemporary Arts and Crafts, artist, sculptor, teacher/lecturer/facilitator, with over 40 years’ experience in the ‘Arts’, students will be encouraged to learn, improve and perfect observational drawing skills, try out more expressive and varied styles and learn how to approach still life and the human figure using a variety of materials and methods.
This is a great course for beginners. Improvers and practicing artists and an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and explore materials in a supportive, relaxed, and productive environment.
  • Still life, life drawing, composition
  • Skills and techniques; observation, proportion, perspective, foreshortening, etc
  • Media and materials; pencil, graphite, pastel, charcoal, etc
  • Styles; encouragement to develop own style, reference to artists and history of art
  • Students to bring along an A3 or A2 sketchbook and a drawing board
  • 6 weeks drawing course in The Studio, Level 5 at the Assembly Rooms
  • Thursdays 1.30-3.30
  • February 13th, 20th, 27th,  March 6th, 13th and 20th
  • £120 for 6 x 2hr sessions
  • Maximum 15 per class to ensure time for individual attention
