Autumn Concert
November 16 @ 7:30 PM
Conductor: Jonathan Lyness
Leader: Claire Tocknell
Mozart: Symphony No 35 in D major, K385 ‘Haffner’
Dvorak: Czech Suite in D major, Op 39
Beethoven: Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op 36
Three popular orchestral works, all in D major, make up this joyful program from the Ludlow Orchestra, who return to Mozart and Beethoven for the first time since 2021.
Mozart’s energetic ‘Haffner’ symphony opens the concert in celebratory style, and Beethoven’s magnificent and vibrant second symphony contrasts pastoral beauty with vivacious good spirits. Dvorak’s Czech Suite, a five-movement work full of dance, folk song, glorious melodies and a rip-roaring finale, completes Ludlow Orchestra’s uplifting and invigorating Autumn concert.
