Why Volunteer?

As a charity, we rely heavily on support from volunteers to keep us operating smoothly, and we are proud to have over 120 volunteers currently working behind the scenes at our vibrant arts centre. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, expand your work experience, and support your local arts charity – so if you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!

As a volunteer at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms you’ll be given full training and support, and the opportunity to broaden your existing skills – or learn new ones! With roles ranging from box office to bar, there’s something for everyone! Take a look at the volunteering pack and the list of opportunities below to find the right position for you!

Here is a selection of the roles available:

Auditorium Stewards
Bar Stewards
Box Office Volunteers
Building and Maintenance assistance
Events – technical assistants
Marketing and publicity assistants
Office, finance, admin assistants
Visitor Information Centre assistants

“Volunteering has helped me meet people and make new friends. I tend to offer to help out when I have free time and as a result, I have had random opportunities to see a number of films, music, opera etc that under normal circumstances I would not have thought I would enjoy.”

“I am now semi-retired from my main career and so have the time to use my skills and experience to support the team and ensure this vital arts facility remains at the heart of the town. Volunteering at LAR has most certainly brought new friends into my life and has the benefit that I am continuing to develop my own skills in an interesting and friendly environment.”
